The tarot deck is a beautiful and fascinating system of symbols. It’s also an effective tool for accessing the deep wisdom you possess within yourself. Engaging with the tarot’s symbols naturally takes you within your own consciousness, toward the source of deep truth and love inside. Tarot is an intuitive method, map of consciousness, pictorial language, and tool for spiritual awakening.
I’ve been practicing tarot for about six years and have always wondered what it would be like to create a deck of my own. Sure, I love the images on the Rider Waite deck and the many other decks I use. But I’ve always had the sense that there could be real magic created through the process of making a deck of my own. And I’m doing exactly that as part of this program.
I’ve partnered with an awesome artist and intuitive coach who owns the coolest studio I’ve ever seen. Her name is Elise Crohn and she owns the Juicy Creatives Studio in Lake Worth, Florida. She’s been helping others explore the truth within their own hearts through artistic creation for a very long time! She and myself will be there to help guide you through the 6-week creative process of making your own 22-card Majors deck.
You don’t have to have any artistic talent to participate in this program. (Let’s hope not; I don’t have any!) The Juicy Creatives Studio is loaded with books, magazines, and other creative resources. All you’ll have to do is relax, go through those resources, and take out the images you want to include on your card. Each session is a few hours long so you can take your time in creating in intuitive Flow. It will be a sacred time of intuitive exploration and self-discovery. It will be lots of fun too.
Imagine your own Fool. Here’s the one I created a few weeks ago:
It’s nothing like the Rider Waite deck, or any others I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure! And that’s exactly the point. I wanted something whimsical, child-like, fun, even a little crazy. These are the energies of card #0, the Fool, and what I put into the creation of this card. What do you think?
Here’s the one I made of The High Priestess, Major Arcana #2:
Yes, that is one very big eye! I chose the image because I was so blown away by it. My intuition said, yes! I have to have that image on my Priestess card! Whenever I use my deck and draw this card I will always be reminded of the deep intuitive truths I have within me. That little box on the bottom right of the card is a reflective surface, a tiny mirror that will tell me to LOOK WITHIN MYSELF.
For comparison’s sake, here are the images of Elise’s versions of the Fool and High Priestess.
What might you choose for your images? There’s no right or wrong way of making any card. My cards may not be “perfect” or even as “good” as the Rider Waite or other professional decks. But these are mine. And that makes them truly special. Yes, there’s creative magic in my cards, and there will be in yours as well.
I’m very excited about this program! The total cost is $333 for six weeks, from April 17 through May 22. If you want to learn more or to make a deposit to secure your spot, please visit our event page on the Juicy Creatives website.
If you love using tarot and have always wanted the opportunity to create your own images for the Fool, Magician, Wheel of Fortune, Priestess, and all the rest, this is a program you will not want to miss. Creating the deck yourself will bring deeper understanding and knowledge of the archetypal energies of each card in a fresh dynamic way! Plus you’ll have your very own deck to use.
Elise and I look forward to creating tarot with you!
